Providing practical solutions for parenting problems.
Services
I can help you with parenting problems, whether big or small. Need help trying to develop a better morning routine? Trying to figure out how to handle those toddler tantrums? I can help. Together we’ll develop individualized strategies that work for your family and create a happier, more peaceful home.
No multi-week commitment, take whatever suits your needs. I encourage asking questions as I want workshops to cater to the needs of the group taking them. You should leave feeling like you’ve gained some tools to add to your parenting toolbox.
Overcoming clutter and keeping things organized when you have kids can be difficult. I can help you with things like figuring out which toys are no longer developmentally appropriate or figuring out ways to organize spaces that will enable your kids to help keep things tidy.

“Alisa has helped me enjoy parenting again!
She brings calm, clarity, and practicality to every scenario I bring to her. She’s successfully coached me to help support my 4-year-old to get ready independently in the morning, and she’s helped our family transform dinnertime from a frustrating battle of wills into a fun and nourishing mealtime we can all enjoy together.
I can’t recommend her enough!”

Welcome to Calmer Waters Parenting, I’m glad you’re here. I provide practical solutions for parenting problems based on my 25 years experience working children and families in a variety of settings. My work focuses on children ages 1-8. Calmer Waters is located in Portland, Oregon and helps families locally, both in person and by phone, and nationally provides services virtually.
Please note on my website I’ll use the word parent, but I do realize there are a myriad of possible family structures. You may be a grandparent raising a grandchild, or you may be an aunt or uncle raising your nieces and nephews, whatever your “official” title may be, if you’re an adult raising a child then you are a parent in my eyes. All are welcome here.
